Donald Mulligan
Donald
Mulligan grew up near Chicago, Illinois and settled in New York City
after college, study and work in France and travels in Europe. He worked
as graphic designer for Life magazine, art director on MD magazine and
AD magazine before establishing his own design and illustration studio
in 1982.
Don continues to paint and illustrate. His clients
include Spanish and Greek tourist offices, The Wall Street Journal,
Diversion magazine and Chase Bank. He has written, illustrated and
published a series of 14 travel articles, the latest on the paradors of
Spain.
Importantly, Don currently is an Adjunct Professor at FIT, where he teaches classes in creativity, advertising design and color.
Throughout his career Mulligan has developed and exhibited a variety of paintings, graphics and watercolors.
Shows in New York include Unicorn Gallery in SoHo and John O'Rourke on Madison Avenue.
Currently his
Paintings on Wood can be seen at An American Craftsman Gallery at 52nd
and 7th Avenue in New York City. A recent one man show was held at the
Figureworks Gallery in Williamsburg , Brooklyn.
Don and his wife Jane Volpe, a watercolorist, hold semi annual Open studios in their Central Park West home.
